Complex projects

don't have to feel

complicated.

I help nonprofits transform big ideas into bite-sized projects that teams can confidently tackle.

The Human Art Framework

Purpose. People. Process.

PURPOSE

The guiding star.

It sets the direction and lights the way. Every meaningful project begins with clarity of purpose. When people understand why the work matters, every decision becomes more intentional and every step moves the mission forward.

PEOPLE

Care for the people who care for the project.

Projects succeed because people choose to care. When people are connected to a shared purpose, supported with intention, and empowered to contribute their unique strengths, they become far more than a collection of individuals - they become a community united by meaningful work. Projects move at the speed of relationships.

PROCESS

Design systems that help people succeed.

Purpose gives us direction. People bring the work to life. Process creates the environment where both can thrive. Good processes create clarity. Great processes create confidence. The purpose of a system isn’t to control people. It’s to help them do their best work. Because in the Human Art of Project Management, process serves the people, and people serve the purpose.

Philosophy

For more than ten years, I've led projects across nonprofit organizations, searching for the answer to one simple question:

Why do some projects thrive while others struggle?

Like many project managers, I was taught the tools. Gantt charts. Spreadsheets. Timelines.

They helped me organize work, but they never taught me how to think about projects. More importantly, they never gave me the confidence that a project would succeed. Halfway through my career, I realized something.

Most project management methodologies begin with process. I believe meaningful projects begin with purpose.

That realization became the foundation of The Human Art of Project Management™.

Project management may have been born in manufacturing, construction, and technology, but nonprofits are different. They are powered by people united around a mission.

My goal is simple:

To help mission-driven organizations transform complexity into bite-sized projects their teams can confidently tackle.

Because when purpose is clear, people are supported, and process serves both, projects become more than completed tasks. They become moments of meaningful progress.

Every organization is unique. Here are some of the most common challenges I help teams navigate through customized workshops.

Meet Maricris

Helping mission-driven organizations turn complexity into meaningful progress.

For more than 15 years, I've helped nonprofits lead meaningful initiatives by connecting strategy with humanity. My career has taken me from project management to fund development, but one thing has remained constant: a passion for helping people bring ambitious ideas to life.

That journey led me to create The Human Art of Project Management™. It is a practical, human-centered framework that helps teams simplify complexity, strengthen collaboration, and build confidence in the work that matters most.
